Our new Community Fridge has arrived! We’re excited to say that our Community Fridge will be in action very soon and will be accepting donations as of Wednesday 2nd December. Supplying a range of fresh food, the fridge will be open to anybody and can be accessed Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 5pm.

All of our regular courses and groups have been temporarily cancelled throughout the November lockdown. However, we still have a handful of support groups running, as well as our community larder which is available 5 days a week.

Merchants’ Place is now open to the public on a part-time basis – every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with the office open 9.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday; however, we remain available to hire 7 days a week, including evenings.

We are hoping to open soon! We are working on new measures to ensure your safety including strategically placed hand sanitizer stations, protective screens and a one-way system through-out the building to maintain appropriate social distancing.

The First Aid course due to run on 6th May 2020 has been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Another course will be re-booked in the future once Merchants’ Place is back open. All learners who were booked onto the course can either receive a full refund or carry their payment over and join the next course once organised.

After cancelling all classes and social gatherings last week, we have decided to close to the public from 5pm on Monday 23rd March. We feel that we have a moral obligation to protect staff and visitors to the Centre and to help curb the spread of the virus. However, we will continue with our community work at the Centre and will be available to answer queries via telephone and email. If you wish to help your community, you can contact us through our Volunteer Hub.
Please be assured you can still access some of the advice services available here; we can book telephone appointments for Citizens Advice Bureau and Norfolk Community Law Service. We can also put you in touch with NHS Wellbeing Service and Pandora Project (Domestic Abuse Support) who are still offering support. We will use our extensive community network to update our social media platforms and our dedicated COVID-19 support page on our website with local information daily.
As an independent, non-profit, community organisation these are worrying times for us. We sincerely hope after this crisis has passed, with the support of the residents and businesses of Cromer, we will yet again be here to serve you all. All Adult Learning courses have been cancelled for the foreseeable future. Adult Learning will be contacting all of their learners to inform them of the changes and will keep them updated on future practices.
